early june goings on

On Saturday we did an interview over at Pirate Cat Radio with DJ Coleo on his show Spicy Meat Parade, and it was really fun! It was cool to get to play some songs super acoustic style. We even played Dorian Waltz using a very silly setting on the little synth instead of my piano, which was… hilarious. You can download the podcast here!

After that Geoff and Zen and I went to eat and then went to meet up with the Picture Atlantic guys to celebrate their upcoming album (being released on the 20th!!). They played a little acoustic set for everyone that was there, and it was incredible and just so so amazing. It was one of those “WOW” moments, and I’m not talking about video games!

This weekend is going to be an exciting one, too. We will be playing a show at El Rincon in San Francisco on Saturday, which will also be Zen’s birthday party show! You can pre-order tickets on our myspace and if you do we will give you a free t-shirt or cd once you’re inside! And if you have been looking at that Picture Atlantic cake all hungry-eyed, you’re in luck, because we will have birthday cake! Also, El Rincon has amazing Mexican food. So good, and very nicely priced. Oh yes!

Well we sure hope to see you out there!!!

Shooting The Music Video : Part 1

So there’s been a lot going on in the world of Please Do Not Fight and one of the staples of that has been the filming of the music video for “On The Other Hand, Fight! Fight! Fight!”. It is directed by Richie Gordon and produced by his company Power Ten Productions. Richie is a guy who is super into film and is currently a student at USF studying just that. Since we’re all about supporting other local artists who wish to make a living doing what they love we jumped on board at the opportunity to shoot a video with him.

I’m going to wait to tell you guys about the full concept for the video but needless to say it is notably goofier and more of a straight-ahead video than the one for “What Am I Trying To Save?”. We’re hoping you’ll enjoy it a lot and not think we’re too dang silly!

Anyways, the music video was shot over two days and at both shoots I was able to get some behind-the-scenes clips. This first clip chronicles the Wednesday shoot in which we shot all of the performance footage (Us just playing along to the song and rocking out). We filmed from 8pm – 2am which was particularly rough on poor Geoff who had been up since 6am and had to be at work the next day at 6am again. We had a lot of fun though and Richies mom provided us all with plenty of food for which we are forever in her debt!

There’s no official release date for the video yet but it shouldn’t be too long. I’ll let ya’ll know when I know and I’ll post Part 2 of our behind-the-scenes adventures soon!

If you’re interested in what other crazy things are going on with us you might wanna scope out the MySpace or join up for our mailing list on the right!

Much love,
Zen
