May 10th at Nickel City!
So here I am with a little blog post for you – things might be kind of quiet in the PDNF blog camp but believe me, behind the scenes things have been hopping. Since we got back from tour we have been working with Kubes full force to get our set tightened up better than ever. We’ve been working on new songs, covers, talking a lot about how we can better serve the local music scene and planning some big surprises (you might even get to see Geoff and Beau rap soon!).
We’ve been lining up shows for this summer and so far so good. For example, we’ll be playing May 10th at Nickel City in San Jose. The show is All Ages which is just the way we like it because we’re not big fans of supporting legislature and venues that are unwilling to create space and events for people of all ages (and especially youth!) to gather. What teenager wants to hang out at the crappy downtown Redwood City theater all the time and be given the stank eye by the over staffed RWC Police Force? Sorry officer, what am I doing here? Hanging out because the city refuses to provide any other venues for it!
I, of course, am not trying to talk bad of the Redwood City Police Force. The members of the force I have spoken to have been some of the kindest I have ever come across and I am a big supporter of this community, but there has to be more for them to do than sit around that damn theatre harassing kids! Expect people to cause trouble and they will. It’s time we expected greater things of the people around us because there is a lot of power to be had here.
So, if you have time, we would absolutely love and adore to see you on the 10th – we’ll be hanging out afterwards and getting some food, so please absolutely seriously consider joining us. To have a few friendly faces to chat with would be a grand thing.
If you can’t make it on the 10th you can check out our other show dates over on the MySpace. It’s not official yet but word on the street is we’ll be playing the Picture Atlantic CD Release Party in June! Shh!
